This is the story of how the term “settled science,” is not only oxymoronic but a demonstration of the complete misunderstanding of the workings of the scientific method.

The story started long ago, but it continues today with something that has been in the news recently: the connections between depression and Serotonin. Regardless of your interest level, this is a perfect example of how well the scientific method actually does work, when it is properly applied.
